It's our future we care about

Why is sustainability so important to us?

At ITZU, we also make a difference when it comes to sustainability. Because we genuinely care about the world we'll be leaving behind for future generations. And because we like to think and act with a future perspective. Day after day. Together, we ensure a healthy balance between people, the planet and profit, by focusing on specific actions that have a positive impact on people and our society.

SDG Pioneer en Champion

Sustainability has been part of our DNA for many years. We have been awarded three Voka Charters for Sustainable Business and we were one of the first Belgian service companies to be designated SDG Pioneer and SDG Champion by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research.

To achieve this, we translated the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations into numerous concrete initiatives within our organisation. For instance, we organised a litter clean-up operation, CEO Louis Kemps gave a webinar on sustainability, we invested in biodiversity in our sites, Thick Sweater Day became a popular initiative, we launched a Sustainability Day for our clients and … established our Sustainability Academy.

ITZU Sustainability Academy

A sustainable mindset doesn't necessarily translate into sustainable behaviour. That's why we focus on real behavioural changes at ITZU. Not only in ourselves, but also in others. Because together, we can make a difference. With the ITZU Sustainability Academy, we aim to inspire and encourage employees, but also other companies, customers, suppliers and stakeholders to embrace more sustainable behaviour.

In our Academy, we offer workshops, webinars, interactive exercises, seminars, etc. on varied topics: from preventing the wasting of water and working on mental health to integrating sustainability in business processes. We'll be there to support you in every sustainable step you take.

ITZU Sustainability Day

We love sharing all the knowledge we’ve gathered on sustainability with the world. That is why we host an annual Sustainability Day for our clients. In this event, we invite sustainability experts from renowned companies to speak in order to encourage other organisations to adopt (more) sustainable behaviour.

Take a look at some impressions from our 2022 edition, where Deloitte, Microsoft, Volvo, Pukkelpop and Colruyt Group shared their expertise with the audience.

Inclusion policy

Every talent counts at ITZU. We not only take differences between people into account as part of our diversity policy, but we also recognise them as valuable to our organisation. Because a good inclusive approach fosters creativity and innovation in the workplace. This is why everyone at ITZU gets the same opportunities, regardless of their cultural identity, gender, religion or sexual orientation. Mutual respect is the basis of our inclusive vision.

Did you know...

... that we employ over 100 different nationalities?
... that 70% of our executives are women?
Because inclusion is an important part of a future-proof HR strategy, we conducted research – together with Professor Filip De Fruyt, associate professor at UGent – into inclusivity in the Belgian workplace.

Work-Life integration

Greater well-being in the workplace is an essential part of our sustainable vision. That's why we go a step further than just achieving good work-life balance: we ensure optimum work-life integration, in which both those key elements can come together as optimally as possible.

Karine Plas, our learning & development expert at ITZU, explains why this is so important:

HR-congres: Growing Together

In a rapidly changing society, it is important as a company to translate business goals, movements in the labour market and broader societal trends into an effective HR strategy.
And there are numerous challenges to consider: from recruitment and talent management to organisation and inclusion in the workplace.

In order to support companies in growing sustainably, ITZU brings together HR experts at the Growing Together conference. There, they share their experiences, case studies and tips.

The next ITZU HR & Sustainability congress #itsourfuturewecareabout will be held on Thursday 1 June 2023 @Living Tomorrow (Vilvoorde)
